Viabonam Corporate Services is recruiting an experienced General Manager to oversee the overall business performance of Paramount Furniture in Abuja. The successful candidate will take responsibility for production, sales, operations, quality control, team management, and profitable business growth.
This is a senior General Manager position requiring extensive experience in furniture manufacturing or a related production industry, with responsibility for both operational and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
The General Manager will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for:
- Managing factory operations, production output, materials, and delivery schedules.
- Establishing and enforcing quality standards from incoming materials through final product inspection.
- Investigating quality failures, customer complaints, and product returns and implementing corrective measures.
- Driving sales across retail, corporate, hospitality contract, institutional, and developer channels.
- Recruiting, structuring, and managing teams across production, quality control, sales, and administration.
- Setting and monitoring targets for production, quality, sales revenue, and profitability.
- Negotiating major supplier, client, and contract terms.
- Maintaining effective business records, controls, and reporting systems.
- Representing the company before clients, suppliers, and business partners.
- Providing regular performance reports to the Managing Director.
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates applying for the General Manager position should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including senior general management or business leadership experience in furniture manufacturing or a related industry.
- A proven track record of managing full P&L responsibility across production and commercial functions.
- Strong experience in manufacturing and production operations, including materials management and output planning.
- Hands-on experience implementing quality control systems, inspection standards, defect tracking, and corrective actions.
- Strong sales leadership experience across retail, B2B contract, and institutional channels.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
- Good knowledge of the furniture and interiors market in Abuja and surrounding markets.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
