Job Summary
The Head, Oil and Gas will provide strategic leadership for the bank’s Oil and Gas portfolio. The role involves driving business development initiatives, increasing market share, managing high-value client relationships, and leading a high-performing team to achieve business targets.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and banking standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business growth, revenue generation, and deposit mobilization within the Oil and Gas sector.
- Develop and implement business strategies aligned with the bank’s corporate objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Oil and Gas companies and key industry stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations and structure financial and transactional solutions for clients.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Relationship Managers and Business Development teams.
- Monitor sales pipelines, portfolio performance, and target achievement.
- Ensure strong credit quality, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and internal banking policies.
- Represent the bank at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
- Drive cross-selling opportunities across Treasury, Trade Finance, Corporate Banking, and Digital Banking services.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess:
- A minimum of a First Degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
- Additional professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Between 7 and 10 years or more of relevant experience in Oil and Gas Banking, Commercial Banking, or Corporate Banking.
- Professional certification from the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) is required or considered an added advantage.
- Proven success in sales leadership, relationship management, and revenue generation.
- Strong understanding of Oil and Gas industry dynamics, sector risks, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
