Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting the hospital’s IT infrastructure, including computer hardware, networking equipment, CCTV systems, biometric devices, printers, and other IT assets. The role also focuses on maintaining reliable network performance, ensuring cybersecurity, and minimizing system downtime to support smooth hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Support
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware faults promptly.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on IT equipment.
- Maintain and update IT asset inventory.
- Coordinate hardware repairs and warranty claims with vendors.
Network Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Ensure stable internet connectivity across hospital locations.
- Configure and maintain VPN connections.
- Implement network security best practices.
Systems Support
- Provide first and second-level technical support to end users.
- Install and update operating systems and software applications.
- Create and manage user accounts and permissions.
- Support Microsoft Office 365 and email configuration.
- Escalate complex technical issues to external vendors when required.
Hospital Systems Support
- Support the Hospital Management System (HMS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Assist with user onboarding, access management, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate software upgrades and maintenance with vendors.
- Ensure critical hospital systems remain operational during clinic hours.
CCTV and Security Systems
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot CCTV systems.
- Monitor recording storage and DVR/NVR functionality.
- Support biometric attendance and access control systems.
Data Backup and Security
- Perform routine data backups and restoration tests.
- Keep antivirus software updated.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices.
- Support disaster recovery planning.
IT Asset Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Track IT asset allocation and movement.
- Recommend hardware upgrades and replacements.
- Ensure secure disposal of obsolete equipment.
Documentation
- Maintain IT documentation, network diagrams, and maintenance schedules.
- Record support requests and resolutions.
- Develop user guides where necessary.
Vendor Management
- Liaise with internet service providers and hardware vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance.
- Obtain quotations and support procurement activities.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with hospital IT policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and organisational information.
- Support IT audits and regulatory compliance activities.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in IT hardware and network support.
- Experience within a healthcare environment is an added advantage.
- Experience supporting multiple office locations is desirable.

Salary
