Job Summary
The Accounts Executive will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial statements, and ensure proper reconciliation of sales and bank transactions.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Experience with accounting software and previous employment in the retail or supermarket industry will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
The Accounts Executive will be responsible for the following duties:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and budgets within established timelines.
- Generate financial reports and analyses to support management decision-making.
- Develop and maintain effective accounting policies and internal controls.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, revenue, and other financial activities.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Reconcile daily sales records and bank statements.
- Ensure proper documentation, organisation, and filing of financial records.
- Support the company’s financial reporting and accounting processes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Interested candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of a B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Previous experience as an Accountant, Senior Accountant, Head of Accounts, or Finance Manager is relevant.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Retailman, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- ICAN or ACCA certification, or part-qualification, is an added advantage.
- Previous experience in the retail or supermarket industry is an advantage.
Salary and Remuneration
The successful candidate will earn between ₦250,000 and ₦350,000 per month, depending on the applicable compensation terms.
