Role Overview
The IT Engineer (Mid-Level Developer) will work closely with the development team to build, test, and maintain enterprise software applications. The successful candidate should be technically proficient, security-conscious, and capable of delivering high-quality software while working collaboratively with senior developers and team leaders.
Key Responsibilities
As the IT Engineer (Mid-Level Developer), you will:
- Build, test, and deploy software features in line with established architecture and development standards.
- Write clean, secure, and maintainable code with a strong focus on protecting financial transactions and customer data.
- Develop and maintain integrations with third-party APIs and external services.
- Participate in code reviews by providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Debug existing applications and resolve issues by identifying root causes.
- Support software deployments and respond to production issues within assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain clear technical documentation to ensure systems remain easy to understand and maintain.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
- Two (2) to four (4) years of practical software development experience.
- Experience building and deploying applications used by real users.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language and framework.
- Good understanding of frontend development fundamentals, browser behaviour, state management, and responsive interface design.
- Solid knowledge of database concepts, including transactions, query optimisation, and data integrity.
- Understanding of web application security, common vulnerabilities, password hashing, and secure handling of customer information.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a methodical debugging approach.
Preferred Skills
Candidates with the following experience will have an added advantage:
- Experience integrating third-party APIs.
- Familiarity with version control systems, testing practices, and code reviews.
- Knowledge of deployment pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Previous experience working on FinTech, InsurTech, or other regulated-data platforms.
