Role Overview
The Store Officer will oversee the receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory control of products, spare parts, materials, and consumables. The successful candidate will ensure inventory accuracy, maintain proper stock management practices, and support efficient business operations while safeguarding company assets.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Confirming that all received items meet the required quality and quantity specifications.
- Organising and maintaining the store to ensure materials are properly labelled and easily accessible.
- Issuing materials, spare parts, and supplies based on approved requisitions.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and updating stock movements using inventory management or ERP systems.
- Monitoring inventory levels and reporting low stock, obsolete, excess, or slow-moving inventory.
- Conducting routine stock counts and periodic physical inventory verification.
- Investigating inventory discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
- Coordinating with Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, and Service teams to ensure inventory availability.
- Ensuring proper storage conditions to prevent theft, damage, deterioration, or loss.
- Monitoring shelf life and expiry dates where applicable.
- Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and reconciliation reports.
- Ensuring compliance with inventory control procedures, health and safety standards, and housekeeping guidelines.
- Supporting internal and external inventory audits.
- Recommending improvements to inventory control processes and storage efficiency.
- Safeguarding company assets and controlling access to store facilities.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in Inventory Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in storekeeping, inventory management, warehouse operations, or logistics.
- Experience in the consumer electronics, retail, home appliances, manufacturing, or distribution industry is preferred.
- Working knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP software will be an advantage.
