Job Overview
The Generator Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel generators ranging from 20kVA to 500kVA. The successful candidate will ensure optimal generator performance, fuel efficiency, and minimal equipment downtime while maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Service diesel generators ranging from 20kVA to 500kVA in accordance with OEM standards.
- Carry out routine preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on diesel engines.
- Service fuel, cooling, lubrication, and exhaust systems.
- Perform engine overhauls, replace worn components, and carry out equipment alignments.
- Support generator load testing and commissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance documentation.
- Comply with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and company safety procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergency generator breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess:
- A Trade Test Certificate, OND, Technical College qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant professional certification.
- A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience working with diesel generators ranging from 20kVA to 500kVA.
- Practical experience with diesel engine brands such as:
- Perkins
- Cummins
- MTU
- Or similar engine manufacturers.
- Experience working on industrial, commercial, or power generation sites.
Salary
Successful candidates will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from:
₦200,000 – ₦250,000
