Associate Manager, Program Data Analytics at Evidence Action
Evidence Action is recruiting for an Associate Manager, Program Data Analytics to support its programs across West and Central Africa (WCA). The role focuses on analyzing cleaned program data, producing evidence-based insights, supporting measurement and survey design, and translating findings into actionable recommendations for program teams and donors.
The Associate Manager, Program Data Analytics will work within Evidence Action’s Data Analytics and Learning team under the Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation (MLE) function. The position will also supervise the Senior Associate, Program Data Analytics.

Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics and Statistical Analysis
- Lead the analysis of cleaned program data received from the Program Data Management team.
- Design and review analysis plans and select appropriate statistical methods.
- Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analysis using Stata, R, or Python.
- Perform activities such as summary statistics, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing.
- Interpret analytical results and translate findings into practical recommendations.
- Identify data patterns, anomalies, and emerging trends requiring program attention.
- Ensure analyses are well documented, rigorous, and reproducible.
Measurement and Survey Design
- Provide analytical input into survey and measurement strategies.
- Advise on sampling approaches, indicator definitions, and survey structures.
- Review survey instruments for analytical quality before deployment.
- Support measurement frameworks for new programs and grants.
Reports, Dashboards and Data Visualization
- Translate analytical findings into reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Oversee donor and program reports using findings from the MLE team.
- Maintain oversight of MLE dashboards and work with dashboard developers to ensure data accuracy.
- Review analytical reports and presentations for accuracy and clarity.
- Guide the development of infographics and other visual materials for communicating findings.
Program and MLE Coordination
- Understand program teams’ analytical needs and communicate them to the Program Data Analytics team.
- Prioritize analytical requests and coordinate delivery with the MLE team.
- Extract useful insights from analysis and research products to support evidence-based program decisions.
Team Management
- Supervise the Senior Associate, Program Data Analytics.
- Review analytical deliverables for accuracy and methodological rigor.
- Coordinate work plans and priorities for the Program Data Analytics team.
- Support mentoring and professional development in areas such as statistical methods and coding practices.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree preferred, or Bachelor’s Degree with additional work experience, in a data-oriented discipline such as Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Political Science, Data Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience conducting quantitative data analysis.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior analysts.
- Strong knowledge of Statistical Analysis using Stata, R, or Python.
- Experience analyzing program or survey data.
- Experience with Data Visualization, infographics, or relevant visualization/design software.
- Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Gapminder, StatSilk, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, or OmniGraffle is beneficial.
- Knowledge of geospatial analysis using ArcGIS or QGIS is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Working proficiency in French is desirable for work involving Francophone WCA countries.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with geographically dispersed teams.
- Ability to use AI tools and technologies to improve analytical workflows, automate routine processes, and enhance productivity.

Performance in the role will include:
- Timely delivery of analytical outputs and donor/program reports.
- Rigorous, documented, and reproducible analysis.
- Quality program and MLE dashboards developed in coordination with the IS team.
- Production of actionable recommendations that support program decision-making.
- Effective mentorship and professional development of the Program Data Analytics team.
Working Conditions and Location
Typical working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Some work outside normal office hours may occasionally be required.
The position can be based in a WCA country, specifically Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, or Nigeria. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents with legal authorization to work in one of these countries. Evidence Action does not currently provide employment visa sponsorship.
