About the Head of Engineering Role
The Head of Engineering will provide technical and people leadership across engineering teams and major technology projects. The successful candidate will set technical direction, oversee engineering delivery and work closely with Product, Operations, Design and Executive Leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership
- Lead, manage and mentor engineering teams across multiple projects and product areas.

- Develop engineers and help prepare high-performing team members for future technical leadership roles.
Technology Strategy and Delivery
- Define and execute engineering strategy in alignment with business and product objectives.

- Provide technical direction and make sound architecture and technology decisions.
- Establish engineering standards, development processes, best practices and delivery methodologies.

Software and Systems
- Oversee code quality, system architecture, testing, deployment and monitoring.

- Challenge unrealistic timelines, requirements or technical decisions and provide practical alternatives when necessary.
- Ensure engineering priorities remain aligned with business objectives.
Compliance and Security
- Ensure engineering practices align with relevant fintech, data protection, security and regulatory requirements.
- Apply appropriate security and risk-management practices across technology projects and systems.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of software engineering or technology experience, including significant engineering leadership experience.
- Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex technology projects from conception through production.
- Strong software development background and ability to engage deeply in technical discussions.
- Experience designing and scaling production-grade applications and systems.
- Experience in fintech, financial services, banking, payments, lending or another highly regulated technology environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security and system scalability.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum or similar software development methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Understanding of engineering metrics, delivery processes and performance management.
