Job Summary
The St. Bridget’s Schools is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and qualified Civic Education Teacher to join its academic team at the Junior Secondary School level.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, maintaining effective classroom management, assessing students’ academic progress, and supporting their overall educational and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Civic Education lessons in line with the approved curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, lesson notes, assignments, tests, examinations, and other instructional materials.
- Teach Civic Education concepts in a clear, practical, and age-appropriate manner.
- Assess and monitor students’ academic progress and provide appropriate feedback.
- Maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
- Provide academic support to students who require additional assistance.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ academic performance and attendance.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, active participation, and responsible citizenship among learners.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school management.
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, training programmes, and professional development initiatives.
- Support students in preparing for relevant examinations, including BECE where applicable.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of NCE, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Civic Education, the relevant subject area, or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience at the Junior Secondary School level is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Civic Education and the current Nigerian school curriculum.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to prepare and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
- Passion for teaching and developing young learners.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and school management.
