Head, Lubricants at an Oil and Gas Firm – Oasis Africa Consulting Limited
Oasis Africa Consulting Limited is recruiting a Head of Lubricants on behalf of a prominent Nigerian oil and gas company operating across major segments of the energy value chain. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the company’s lubricants and chemical business, with a strong focus on growing the chemical business and expanding the market for Transaqua products.
The Head of Lubricants will oversee business strategy, product development, sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, and customer relationships while driving profitability and long-term market growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the growth of the lubricants and chemical business.
- Lead the growth and consolidation of the Transaqua business.
- Identify new chemical business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
- Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify industry trends and emerging opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, OEMs, regulators, industry leaders, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies for chemical and Transaqua products.
- Set sales targets with the sales team and drive achievement of revenue objectives across regions and market segments.
- Oversee digital marketing initiatives to strengthen brand visibility and customer engagement.
- Develop customer relationships and identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
- Oversee sourcing, production, inventory, and distribution of Transaqua and other chemical products.
- Work with procurement teams and clearing agents to ensure timely and cost-effective product delivery.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and reduce supply lead times.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
- Guide market research activities and maintain relevant industry data.
- Provide the team with training opportunities and access to current industry information.
- Maintain high-level relationships with industry stakeholders and key customer influencers.
- Build strategic partnerships that support business growth.
- Communicate business requirements, challenges, and opportunities to senior management.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Managing Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Social Sciences, or another relevant discipline from an accredited university.
- B.Eng qualification is an advantage.
- Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in industrial sales.
- Strong knowledge of lubricants, their applications, and market dynamics.
- Strong business acumen and strategic leadership capabilities.
- Excellent sales, marketing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to identify new business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and commercial operations.
