Job Summary

The Field Service Engineer (Solar Energy) will be responsible for ensuring maximum energy uptime across Jaza Energy’s operational hubs. The successful candidate will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize solar energy systems while supporting the company’s rapid expansion across Nigeria.

This role requires regular travel within Nigeria and is suited for professionals who enjoy field engineering, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure continuous energy uptime and reliable power availability across operational sites.
• Monitor solar energy systems and resolve technical faults promptly.
• Support the installation and setup of new energy hubs.
• Install and configure solar panels, electrical wiring, and associated equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on hub energy systems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues both remotely and on-site.
• Collaborate with Jaza Stars and the data team to solve operational challenges.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for hub equipment and components.
• Prepare technical reports on hub performance and submit findings to the Regional Service Engineer.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2 to 3 years of technical or engineering experience within the telecommunications, renewable energy, or related industries.
• Practical experience installing, maintaining, or supporting solar and diesel-powered energy systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for expanding access to clean energy.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
