Job Summary
The Assistant Production Manager will oversee safe, efficient, and cost-effective production activities by converting production plans into daily operational schedules. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing manpower, machinery, materials, and production methods while ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and cost control targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Convert weekly and monthly production schedules into daily shift plans.
- Allocate manpower, machinery, and materials effectively.
- Monitor production output and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage employee attendance, shift scheduling, overtime, and payroll accuracy.
- Track equipment performance and coordinate maintenance activities.
- Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards.
- Monitor waste levels and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Control production costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and PPE requirements.
- Prepare daily production and operational reports.
- Supervise workforce performance, discipline, and development.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be measured using the following indicators:
- Daily production target achievement of 95% to 100%.
- Machine utilization rate of at least 85%.
- Labor costs and overtime maintained within approved budgets.
- Defects and production waste kept within acceptable limits.
- 100% payroll accuracy.
- Zero major safety violations.
- Timely and accurate operational reporting.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields:
- Production Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Related disciplines
Experience Requirements
Candidates should have:
- 4 to 8 years of experience in Oil Palm plantation operations.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.
- Proven experience in production planning, workforce management, labor control, and cost management.
Technical Skills
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- ERP system proficiency.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies will be an added advantage.
Salary
Successful candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from:
₦400,000 – ₦450,000
