Job Summary
The Public Relations Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic public relations initiatives that enhance Itel Energy’s corporate reputation, increase media visibility, and support overall business objectives.
The successful candidate will manage media relations, corporate communications, crisis communication activities, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring consistent brand messaging across multiple communication channels.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and execute comprehensive public relations strategies aligned with business goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media organizations, influencers, and key stakeholders.
- Draft press releases, media statements, speeches, newsletters, and other corporate communication materials.
- Identify and secure positive media coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and social media platforms.
- Plan and coordinate press conferences, corporate events, product launches, exhibitions, and media engagements.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on brand visibility and public perception.
- Maintain consistent corporate messaging across all communication channels.
- Support crisis communication planning and manage responses to reputational challenges.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to maximize campaign visibility through public relations activities.
- Develop thought leadership opportunities for company executives through interviews, speaking engagements, and industry events.
- Manage relationships with external PR agencies and communication partners.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify communication opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company communication policies and brand guidelines.
Requirements
To be eligible for this PR Job in Lagos, applicants must possess:
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years proven experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Brand Communications.
- Industry experience in renewable energy, energy solutions, power, consumer electronics, telecommunications, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated success in securing media coverage and managing media relationships.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong network of media contacts.
- Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience in crisis communication and reputation management.
- Strong project management and event coordination abilities.
