Job Summary
The SOC Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity threats and security incidents across the organization’s IT infrastructure.
The successful candidate will help ensure continuous protection of systems, networks, applications, and data through effective security monitoring, threat detection, incident investigation, and response activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and alerts generated by SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, firewalls, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Investigate and analyze potential cybersecurity incidents to determine their severity, impact, and root cause.
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
- Conduct threat hunting exercises to identify hidden threats and potential vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain security monitoring use cases and detection rules.
- Maintain and improve incident response procedures and security monitoring processes.
- Escalate critical security incidents to relevant stakeholders and management.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and conduct post-incident reviews.
- Provide recommendations to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
- Support vulnerability remediation by collaborating with infrastructure and application teams.
- Maintain security dashboards, logs, and monitoring systems.
- Participate in cybersecurity awareness and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support effective operations within the organization’s Security Operations Center.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance in the SOC Engineer role will be measured using indicators including:
- Mean Time to Detect (MTTD)
- Mean Time to Respond (MTTR)

Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates applying for this role should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in Security Operations, Incident Response, or Cybersecurity.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM solutions, EDR tools, IDS/IPS, and network security technologies.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of security event and log analysis.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and cross-functional teams.
