Junior Truck Driver
Thronos Technologies Limited is recruiting a Junior Truck Driver to support the transportation and operational needs of a leading manufacturing company. The role involves safely transporting personnel, goods, and materials within Lagos and across Nigeria, with occasional long-distance and cross-border assignments.
The ideal candidate should have professional driving experience, strong knowledge of Lagos roads, a valid Nigerian driver’s licence, and a responsible approach to vehicle safety and company operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Transport personnel, goods, materials, and other assigned items.
- Undertake driving assignments within Lagos and to other states across Nigeria.
- Support transportation between different company locations.
- Occasionally undertake approved trips to neighbouring African countries.
- Maintain good knowledge of Lagos roads and major routes.
- Carry out basic vehicle checks before journeys.
- Report vehicle faults and maintenance issues promptly.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean and properly maintained.
- Comply with road traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Maintain professional conduct when interacting with employees, customers, vendors, and members of the public.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required.
- Maintain trip and vehicle records where applicable.
- Perform other driving-related duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE, WAEC, NECO, or equivalent.
- Valid Nigerian driver’s licence.
- Previous professional driving experience.
- Minimum of 5–6 years of residence in Lagos.
- Must currently reside in Lagos State.
- Strong knowledge of Lagos routes and road networks.
- Ability and willingness to undertake interstate journeys.
- Willingness to undertake occasional long-distance and cross-border trips.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance is an advantage.
- Good understanding of road safety regulations.
- Reliable, punctual, disciplined, and responsible.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules when required.
General Conditions
Selected candidates must be willing to work according to the company’s operational schedule, undertake interstate assignments, and occasionally travel to neighbouring African countries when required. Candidates must also comply with road safety and company policies, provide valid identification and driving documentation, pass the required screening and verification process, and be available for physical assessment or interview when invited.
