Coker Farms is recruiting a proactive and hands-on Assistant Farm Manager to support the day-to-day management of its poultry operations in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The Assistant Farm Manager will work closely with the Farm Manager to coordinate farm activities, supervise staff, monitor bird performance and maintain high standards of hygiene, productivity and biosecurity.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Farm Manager in overseeing daily poultry farm operations.
- Supervise Pen Managers, Pen Attendants and other farm employees.
- Monitor bird health, feeding, water consumption, mortality and overall performance.
- Ensure daily farm activities are completed according to established procedures.
- Monitor feed, medication, equipment and other farm resources.
- Maintain proper cleaning, sanitation and biosecurity practices.
- Review daily records and reports from the poultry pens.
- Identify operational challenges and escalate them promptly.
- Coordinate activities with veterinary, maintenance, store and operations teams.
- Assist with stocking, de-stocking, vaccination, medication and other farm activities.
- Ensure employees follow assigned duties and maintain discipline.
- Support implementation of farm policies, SOPs and operational standards.
- Prepare daily operational updates and reports for management.
- Act on behalf of the Farm Manager when required.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or HND in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agricultural Extension or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in poultry farming or livestock operations.
- Strong practical knowledge of poultry production.
- Previous experience supervising farm staff is an advantage.
- Good understanding of biosecurity, feeding, medication and pen management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
- Must be proactive, disciplined, organized and hands-on.
- Must be willing to work on-site and actively participate in farm operations.
