Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited (NNEC) is recruiting to fill the position of Engineering – Wells Advisor III in Lagos.
NNEC provides engineering, project management, inspection and environmental services, with a focus on delivering safe, reliable, cost-effective and environmentally responsible facilities.
This is a senior-level Wells Advisor III position designed for an experienced engineering professional with strong expertise in drilling, well planning, completion operations, rig development and construction. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance, mentor less-experienced engineers and support safe and efficient drilling and completion programs.
Job Overview
The Wells Advisor III will serve as a technical resource and mentor within drilling and completion operations.
The role requires an expert-level professional capable of advising drilling and completion engineers on well planning, well design and operational surveillance. The successful candidate will also contribute to engineering studies, performance improvement initiatives, construction and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities
The Wells Advisor III will:
- Mentor and work closely with less-experienced drilling and completion engineers.
- Provide oversight of drilling programs and promote consistent practices across multiple rig lines.
- Interface with business units and affiliates on logistics, environmental, regulatory, procurement and cost stewardship activities.
- Develop and lead long-term team performance improvement initiatives.
- Conduct and support engineering studies.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve drilling and completion efficiency.
- Participate in vendor clarifications, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and package acceptance.
- Review and respond to specification deviation requests.
- Review engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Address human factors engineering and safety of personnel and equipment in collaboration with relevant contractors.
- Assist with the development and review of commissioning and System Integration Test procedures.
- Support construction and commissioning activities as required.
- Provide technical advice to support safe, efficient and reliable drilling operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- A degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Advanced analytical and computing skills.
- Experience in construction site management, preferably with knowledge of drilling well-site design.
- Extensive experience in drilling rig development, including FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of drilling and completion operations.
- Ability to adapt effectively to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to organize, manage and progress work independently.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams involving multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards, including API, ASME, ANSI, SAE, ASTM, ABS, DNV, SOLAS and IMO.
- Knowledge of offshore oil and gas regulations.

The ideal Wells Advisor III should be an experienced technical professional with a strong background in drilling and well operations. The candidate should be capable of providing expert guidance, mentoring engineering teams and coordinating technical activities involving multiple stakeholders.
