Job Summary
The Senior Field Project Engineer will provide engineering and field execution support for civil, structural, and Management of Change (MoC) projects. The role involves supervising contractors, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, coordinating project execution, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Field Project Engineer, you will:
- Provide on-site technical supervision for construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure project execution complies with company specifications, regulatory requirements, and international engineering standards.
- Develop project scopes of work, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and cost estimates.
- Participate in vendor assessments and Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) processes.
- Support the preparation and implementation of Project Execution Plans.
- Develop, review, and interpret civil, structural, and MEP engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and 3D model reviews.
- Supervise contractors and ensure safe, high-quality project execution.
- Review and approve contractor deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project performance against cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
- Prepare site progress reports, inspection reports, and project close-out documentation.
- Support Management of Change (MoC) activities for project upgrades and modifications.
- Resolve field engineering challenges and escalate critical issues when necessary.
- Liaise with government agencies and third parties regarding pipeline Right-of-Way (ROW) matters.
- Inspect pipeline ROW encroachments and recommend corrective measures.
- Develop erosion protection and control solutions to safeguard buried pipelines.
- Communicate project progress, technical issues, and risks to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
To qualify for this Senior Field Project Engineer position, applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience in engineering design and construction within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and mapping tools such as Google Earth Pro.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of national and international engineering regulations, codes, and standards.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and coordinate complex engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and quality management standards.
- Ability to identify and manage engineering and project risks effectively.
- Experience working in demanding field environments and making practical engineering decisions.
