AML Operations Analyst
LemFi (formerly Lemonade Finance) is a technology-driven financial services company building a neobank for the African diaspora in North America and Europe. Job Summary
The AML Operations Analyst will join LemFi’s Compliance Operations team and play an important role in protecting the company and its customers from financial crime while supporting safe and seamless access to its financial products.
Reporting to the Financial Crime Operations or Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Manager, the successful candidate will support day-to-day compliance decisions by reviewing alerts, assessing customer risk, conducting due diligence, and responding to compliance requests from customers and financial partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Review transaction monitoring, customer verification, and sanctions screening alerts.
- Assess customer and transaction risks and make accurate, timely decisions.
- Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) on higher-risk customers.
- Prepare clear, well-reasoned recommendations for Compliance leadership.
- Conduct first-level reviews of customers and transactions showing potential red flags.
- Escalate suspicious activity and other compliance concerns when required.
- Respond to due diligence and Request for Information (RFI) requests from banking and payments partners.
- Complete partner requests within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Respond to compliance-related customer tickets professionally, clearly, and empathetically.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams on compliance-related matters.
- Keep up to date with emerging AML typologies, financial crime risks, and criminal trends.
- Support the continuous strengthening of AML and CFT controls.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in AML and/or CDD compliance.
- Experience working within a fintech, financial institution, advisory firm, or audit company.
- Hands-on experience conducting KYC reviews and identity verification.
- Experience with enhanced due diligence, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring alerts.
- Ability to independently assess customer risk and make defensible compliance decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Sheets for case management and reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Good understanding of compliance procedures and financial crime risk management.
