Job Summary
AABA Memorial School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Literature-in-English Teacher to teach students at the Senior Secondary level. The successful candidate will deliver engaging literature lessons, support students’ academic development, and prepare learners for WAEC, NECO, and other relevant examinations.
The role requires an educator with strong communication and classroom management skills who can encourage critical thinking, creativity, and a lasting appreciation for literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Literature-in-English effectively across Senior Secondary School classes.
- Prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and other relevant examinations.
- Develop engaging lesson plans, lesson notes, tests, and examinations.
- Introduce students to literary texts, concepts, analysis, and interpretation.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, effective communication, and appreciation of literature.
- Monitor students’ academic progress and provide appropriate support.
- Identify areas where students require additional academic assistance.
- Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
- Participate in school activities and contribute to the overall development of students.
- Work professionally with other members of the teaching team to support school objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Literature-in-English, English Education, or a related field.
- Relevant teaching qualification is an added advantage.
- Proven teaching experience at the Senior Secondary School level is preferred.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of Literature-in-English and examination requirements.
- Passion for teaching and the ability to inspire students to achieve academic excellence.
