Solid Rock Hospital is a privately owned, ultra-modern medical and dental hospital located at No. 6 Akinsanya Street, Ojodu, Lagos. Established on June 21, 1992, the hospital has 26 beds and provides healthcare services within a modern clinical environment.
Job Summary
Solid Rock Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Laboratory Technician to support its laboratory operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for specimen collection and processing, laboratory equipment operation, documentation, inventory management, and accurate entry and tracking of laboratory information.
The role requires a caring, dedicated, professional individual who can maintain high standards of laboratory practice while delivering quality service to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy procedures for both adults and children.
- Assist with various laboratory functions and daily operations.
- Maintain and regularly update laboratory checklists.
- Operate and manage automated hematology and chemistry analyzers and other laboratory equipment.
- Handle thermometers, balances, and other laboratory apparatus appropriately.
- Label, sort, record, and organize patient specimens accurately.
- Enter and maintain laboratory information in the computer system.
- Use a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for specimen tracking, results entry, and reporting.
- Perform laboratory inventory and monitor available supplies.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
- Support efficient laboratory operations and contribute to the quality and reputation of laboratory services.
- Follow appropriate laboratory procedures and maintain professional standards when handling specimens and equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum qualification of a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited School of Health Technology.
- Up-to-date professional registration and valid practising licence.
- 2–10 years of relevant work experience.
- Computer literacy and ability to work with laboratory information systems.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Caring, compassionate, dedicated, and professional attitude.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Must reside within Ojodu Berger and its environs.
