Production Operator (Syrup Operator) at Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company

Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (Coca-Cola HBC) is recruiting to fill the position of Production Operator (Syrup Operator) in Benin, Edo State.

The successful candidate will work in the Syrup Room and be responsible for mixing and producing final syrup for beverage production while ensuring compliance with quality, food safety and Coca-Cola Company specifications.

Role Purpose

The Syrup Operator will report to the Syrup Room Team Leader and coordinate simple syrup mixing operations.

The role involves ensuring that final syrup is free from contaminants and meets required quality and safety specifications before it is used in beverage production.

Key Responsibilities

The Production Operator will:

• Manufacture final syrup in strict compliance with established standards.
• Monitor control points, prerequisite programs (PRPs) and operational prerequisite programs (oPRPs) during syrup production.
• Help prevent food safety hazards throughout the syrup manufacturing process.
• Conduct incoming inspections of sugar, beverage base and concentrates.
• Reject ingredients that do not meet Coca-Cola Company specifications.
• Perform syrup tests, including Brix, taste, appearance, floc potential and volume.
• Ensure syrup testing is performed at the required frequency according to SOPs, work aids and work instructions.
• Monitor final syrup stock levels and provide updates to management.
• Ensure syrup tanks are properly sanitized before and after mixing.
• Monitor sugar dumpers while they perform their duties.
• Maintain compliance with production, quality and food safety requirements.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

• A minimum of HND, BSc or equivalent qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience in Syrup Operations.
• Good physical fitness.
• Technical dexterity and ability to work with production equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to influence and maintain positive working relationships.
• Strong attention to quality, safety and operational procedures.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal Production Operator should have practical experience in syrup production or a related manufacturing environment and understand the importance of quality control and food safety.

Candidates should be physically fit, technically capable and able to follow production procedures and testing requirements accurately.
