Job Summary
The CCTV / Control Room Operator will monitor and manage the hotel’s CCTV surveillance systems and other electronic security systems to ensure the safety of guests, employees, visitors, contractors, and company assets. The successful candidate will detect suspicious activities, support emergency responses, preserve surveillance evidence, and maintain strict confidentiality while ensuring compliance with hotel security policies.
Key Responsibilities
As a CCTV / Control Room Operator, you will:
CCTV Monitoring and Surveillance
- Monitor CCTV cameras covering guest areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, public spaces, offices, corridors, elevators, staircases, and restricted locations.
- Detect and report suspicious activities, unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, safety hazards, and security breaches.
- Maintain continuous surveillance throughout assigned shifts.
- Escalate security concerns promptly to the appropriate security personnel.
Security Operations Support
- Provide real-time surveillance information to the security team.
- Guide patrol officers to incident locations using CCTV footage.
- Monitor access control points and security checkpoints.
- Support VIP movements through discreet surveillance.
- Monitor compliance with hotel security procedures.
Incident Detection and Emergency Response
- Detect and report fire alarms, medical emergencies, disturbances, theft, and unauthorized access.
- Coordinate with security personnel during emergency situations.
- Preserve video evidence related to incidents.
CCTV Recording and Evidence Management
- Ensure CCTV recordings are properly captured and securely stored.
- Retrieve and archive surveillance footage required for investigations.
- Maintain accurate evidence handling records.
- Protect CCTV data from unauthorized access.
Access Control and Security Systems
- Monitor electronic access control systems.
- Observe staff entrances, restricted areas, loading bays, and service corridors.
- Report unauthorized access attempts immediately.
- Operate CCTV software, alarm systems, digital recording equipment, and other electronic security systems.
- Report equipment faults and coordinate maintenance with relevant departments.
Reporting and Investigation Support
- Maintain surveillance logs and prepare detailed incident reports.
- Assist in investigations involving theft, fraud, accidents, misconduct, and security breaches.
- Ensure proper chain of custody for video evidence.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Monitor compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Report hazardous conditions and unsafe practices.
- Support emergency evacuation monitoring.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with data protection policies.
- Participate in security training and recommend improvements to surveillance operations.
Requirements
To qualify for this CCTV / Control Room Operator position, applicants should possess:
- National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Security Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Criminology, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- SSCE holders with relevant CCTV experience may also be considered.
- 2–3 years of experience operating CCTV systems in a hotel, corporate organization, security company, shopping mall, airport, or similar environment.
- Experience in a luxury hotel or internationally branded hospitality establishment is an added advantage.
