Job Summary
The Manager, EHS Planning at Oando will provide strategic leadership for EHS planning and governance while ensuring integration of safety, environmental sustainability, and risk management into business operations and investment decisions.
The role also focuses on compliance, performance monitoring, process safety management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Lead EHS planning and performance management initiatives.
- Drive EHS risk governance across business operations.
- Ensure integration of EHS objectives into corporate strategy.
- Oversee risk assessment and process safety management systems.
- Manage regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement.
- Implement and maintain integrated management systems based on ISO standards.
- Monitor EHS performance using data analytics and reporting systems.
- Promote continuous improvement and corrective action processes.
- Support ESG and project-related EHS initiatives.
- Utilize digital EHS systems for tracking, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Professional Certifications
Candidates should possess relevant certifications, including:
- NEBOSH
- IOSH
- ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certification
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Certification
Advanced certifications such as:
- NEBOSH Diploma
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
will be highly desirable.
Experience Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Minimum of 14 to 16 years of EHS experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong exposure to upstream exploration and production (E&P) operations.
- Proven experience in:
- EHS planning and performance management.
- Process safety management systems.
- Risk assessment methodologies.
- ISO management systems implementation.
- Regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement.
- EHS reporting and analytics.
- Industry standards such as OSHA, API, and ISO.
