Job Summary
The institution is seeking a qualified English Language Teacher to teach English Language to SS 2 and SS 3 students and Literature in English to SS 3 students.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering well-structured and engaging lessons, developing students’ communication and analytical abilities, assessing academic progress, and preparing students for internal and external examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language to SS 2 and SS 3 students.
- Teach Literature in English to SS 3 students.
- Prepare and deliver engaging, structured, and effective lessons.
- Develop students’ grammar, comprehension, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
- Guide students in reading, understanding, and analysing literary texts.
- Assess students’ academic performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support students’ overall academic development.
- Maintain effective classroom management and professional teaching standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of HND or BSc in English, English Education, Literature, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature in English.
- Ability to effectively teach and engage SS 2 and SS 3 students.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good spoken English.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Professional, patient, and committed approach to teaching.
- Ability to support students’ academic growth and learning needs.
