Jamub Group of Companies is a diversified Nigerian business with interests in construction, engineering, fintech, oil and gas, FMCG, and agribusiness. Its Architecture, Engineering & Construction division is seeking a skilled Finishing Architect to oversee architectural finishing works across its construction projects in Osun.
The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing design, technical coordination, site supervision, material inspection, quality control, contractor coordination and ensuring completed works meet approved architectural specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Finishing Design and Technical Coordination
- Prepare, review and interpret finishing drawings, specifications, details and material schedules.
- Coordinate architectural finishes with structural, MEP, civil and other project requirements.
- Review finishing materials, colours, textures, samples and proposed alternatives.
- Identify design clashes, constructability concerns and technical gaps before execution.
Site Supervision and Quality Control
- Supervise flooring, tiling, ceilings, painting, wall finishes, doors, windows, joinery and other finishing works.
- Inspect dimensions, levels, alignment, workmanship and material quality.
- Identify defective or non-compliant works and ensure corrections are completed.
- Coordinate finishing inspections with Project Managers, Site Engineers and other technical teams.
Materials and Contractor Coordination
- Review finishing materials for technical suitability and quality.
- Inspect delivered materials against approved specifications and samples.
- Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors, Procurement teams, Project Managers and contractors.
- Monitor material usage and minimise wastage.
- Review and approve samples and mock-ups within delegated authority.
Technical Coordination and Defect Management
- Coordinate finishing activities with architectural, structural, MEP and site teams.
- Resolve finishing-related technical issues promptly.
- Monitor finishing progress against the approved project schedule.
- Inspect completed areas and coordinate snagging and corrective works.
- Ensure outstanding defects are resolved before project handover.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain finishing drawings, material schedules, samples, inspection records and site instructions.
- Prepare finishing progress and technical reports.
- Maintain snag lists and track outstanding works through completion.
- Support as-built documentation and project handover.
- Report delays, quality issues and technical concerns to the appropriate project team.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications and professional experience in Architecture or a related construction discipline.
- Strong knowledge of architectural finishes and construction detailing.
- Practical experience supervising finishing works on construction sites.
- Good understanding of building materials, workmanship standards and quality control.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, quantity surveyors, procurement teams and project managers.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify defects, design clashes and constructability issues.
- Good project documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a site-based construction environment.
