The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Nigerian Celebrity News, including Nollywood, Afrobeats, influencers, celebrity relationships, controversies, viral stories, and emerging entertainment trends. The role requires someone who can quickly understand a story, identify what makes it interesting, and deliver engaging narration for YouTube videos.
Job Responsibilities
- Turn researched entertainment stories into engaging YouTube voiceovers.
- Quickly understand the context and relevance of celebrity stories.
- Write or refine short, conversational narration.
- Record energetic and natural-sounding voiceovers.
- Deliver multiple voiceovers efficiently and consistently.
- Work closely with researchers and editors to transform stories into finished video content.
- Clearly distinguish between verified facts, allegations, rumours, and speculation.
- Stay updated on Nigerian celebrity and entertainment trends.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Nigerian entertainment and celebrity culture.
- Strong and engaging speaking voice.
- Fast, confident, and natural delivery.
- Good understanding of Nigerian celebrities, Nollywood, Afrobeats, influencers, and viral entertainment stories.
- Ability to identify why a celebrity story is trending and communicate it effectively.
- Ability to use a personal microphone or procure one.
- Availability to deliver multiple voiceovers per week.
- Previous professional journalism experience is not required.
- Candidates should genuinely follow Nigerian entertainment news and be able to discuss major celebrity stories without extensive background research.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal Voiceover Host should already understand the Nigerian entertainment scene and be able to turn a story brief into compelling narration. You should know the personalities involved, understand the context behind trending stories, and be able to communicate the story naturally and confidently.
