The Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF) is recruiting to fill the position of Finance Intern in Abuja (FCT).
HSDF is a not-for-profit organization established in 2013 to improve decision-making and execution across Nigeria’s health and social sectors. The organization works with government and private-sector stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions and improve health systems across Nigeria and Africa.
This internship provides an opportunity for accounting graduates to gain practical experience in financial record management, payment processing, treasury operations, documentation and financial reporting.

Job Summary
The Finance Intern will report to the Finance Manager and support the finance team with recording and retrieving financial information, maintaining financial records, processing payments, filing documents and other finance-related administrative duties.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Download travel advance requests and retirements from staff on bulk pay.
- Assist with clearing documents on SAP.
- Prepare weekly cash position reports by bank and project for financial planning.
- Support Treasury with payment processes, including capturing payments in Excel spreadsheets.
- Upload payments to bank platforms such as GAPS, S2B and IBTC BusinessOnline.
- Send payment notifications to the Finance Manager.
- Collate disbursement requests and supporting documents for review by the Finance Officer.
- Stamp PAID on vouchers after payment processing has been completed.
- Scan and file payment vouchers and journals with supporting documents according to projects.
- Serve as the finance contact person for incoming documents and route them to the appropriate officers.
- Respond to staff enquiries regarding the status of payment requests.
- Track payment requests through the treasury processing stage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting or a related field.
- Fresh graduates and NYSC candidates are encouraged to apply.
- No previous work experience is required.
- Must have an aspiration to become a professional accountant.
- Must be computer literate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Ability to maintain accurate financial records and handle documentation effectively.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
