Job Summary
BGE (Nigeria) Solar FZE, a growing company in the new energy and photovoltaic manufacturing industry, is recruiting a Logistics Specialist to support its expanding operations in Nigeria.
The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for coordinating import and export logistics, customs clearance, freight forwarding, warehouse movement, transportation, and material dispatch. The successful candidate will help ensure the timely movement of manufacturing equipment, raw materials, and finished products while maintaining regulatory compliance and controlling logistics costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end import and export logistics operations, including shipping schedules, freight tracking, and port clearance.
- Manage relationships with clearing agents, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and relevant regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate logistics activities involving Nigerian Customs, NEPZA, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, and other applicable agencies.
- Prepare, inspect, and verify logistics and import documentation, including Form M, Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, and Certificates of Origin.
- Monitor the movement of materials and products through warehouses and distribution points.
- Oversee loading and unloading operations and coordinate inland transportation and fleet routing.
- Track shipment schedules and delivery timelines to ensure materials arrive as planned.
- Identify and resolve customs holds, shipment delays, transit challenges, and other logistics issues promptly.
- Monitor logistics and freight costs and review freight invoices for accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to reduce transportation, freight, and supply chain costs.
- Maintain accurate logistics records and prepare relevant operational reports.
- Ensure logistics activities comply with applicable Nigerian customs, port, Free Zone, and company requirements.
Requirements
Candidates applying for the Logistics Specialist position should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures and port clearance processes.
- Good understanding of Free Zone operational guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Experience coordinating import/export logistics, freight forwarding, and customs clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics software or ERP systems.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
