Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager, Trade Development will manage and develop trade channels by driving sales performance, strengthening distributor relationships, and implementing trade development strategies that increase market penetration, revenue growth, and sales effectiveness across assigned territories.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Manage and oversee Key Distributors (KDs) to achieve business growth and operational excellence.
- Drive sales volume and revenue growth through effective market expansion initiatives.
- Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for route planning and the effective use of sales automation tools.
- Expand market coverage by developing and strengthening sub-distributor networks.
- Develop and implement Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with Key Distributors to improve performance.
- Conduct periodic business reviews and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to recommend strategic improvements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, sub-dealers, and direct buying bakers.
- Implement redistribution strategies that improve product availability and market penetration across assigned territories.
Qualifications
Interested candidates should possess:
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline.
Experience
Applicants must have:
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant sales experience within the FMCG industry.
- Previous experience in redistribution sales will be an added advantage.
