Job Summary

Job Title: Process Engineer

Location: Mtwara Plant, Tanzania

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and controlling production processes to ensure efficient and safe cement manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include:

• Monitor all sections of the production line from the Central Control Room (CCR).
• Ensure production processes meet quality and operational standards.
• Coordinate with shift coordinators, patrollers, and plant operators to maintain smooth production.
• Monitor plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation while complying with environmental regulations.
• Record process data at specified intervals and prepare operational reports.
• Oversee the smooth operation of crushers, raw mills, kilns, and cement mills.
• Identify equipment failures and provide guidance for corrective actions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot operational issues to minimize production downtime.
• Review plant automation systems and recommend improvements based on industry best practices.
• Prepare detailed technical reports on operational activities.
• Supervise casual workers to ensure conveyor belts remain clean and free from blockages.
• Ensure cement and clinker production targets are achieved during assigned shifts.
• Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by the Section Head or Head of Department.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Chemical and Processing Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
• Good understanding of cement production processes.
